The World Magic Cup is a three-day invitation-only team event across multiple formats.
2013 World Magic Cup Tournament Format and Schedule
The Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules and the Magic: The Gathering Infraction Procedure Guide are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Format Document.

National Team Composition
- Players compete as 3-person teams throughout the tournament.
- At the start of each day, teams choose which 3 members will play in each format.
- At the start of each day, teams chose which decks will be played by each team member during the Standard format.
- On each day, the same 3 team members cannot be chosen to play each of the 2 formats (does not apply to national teams with 3 members).
- At the start of each day, team members will choose their team seating configuration (player A, B, and C) for each format.
- During each format, the 4th member (if present) of each national team may sit with the team and communicate with team members during matches.
- Regardless of team composition during each portion, all members of each national team will receive prize money (if any) and Pro Points based on his or her national team’s final standing.
Day One (Friday, August 2)
- Magic 2014 Team Sealed Deck – 3 Swiss rounds
- Team Unified Standard Constructed – 4 Swiss rounds. No more than four copies of any Standard-legal card (basic lands excluded) may appear across a team's three Standard decks.
- 12 Magic 2014 boosters per team will be used for Team Sealed Deck.
- Standard deck lists must be submitted prior to the start of the tournament.
- The top 32 teams will advance to Day Two.
Day Two (Saturday, August 3)
Team Pool Play (Part 1)
- 32 Teams compete in seeded pools (8 pools of 4 teams each). Each team will play each other team in their pool once.
- Return to Ravnica Block Team Sealed Deck – 3 rounds.
- 4 boosters each of Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash, and Dragon's Maze will be used for Team Sealed Deck.
- The top 2 teams (16 total teams) from each pool with the best records within Team Pool Play (Part 1) will advance to Team Pool Play (Part 2).
- If two or more teams are tied at the end of pool play, the team(s) with the highest seeding will advance.
Team Pool Play (Part 2)
- 16 Teams compete in seeded pools (4 pools of 4 teams each). Each team will play each other team in their pool once.
- Team Unified Standard Constructed – 3 rounds. No more than four copies of any Standard-legal card (basic lands excluded) may appear across a team's three Standard decks.
- Teams will use the same Standard decks from Day One. Different team members may play those decks than played them during Day One.
- The top 2 teams (8 total teams) from each pool with the best records within Team Pool Play (Part 2) will advance to Day Three.
- If two or more teams are tied at the end of pool play, the team(s) with the highest seeding will advance.
Day Three (Sunday, August 4)
- 8 Teams compete in a seeded, single-elimination bracket.
- Teams are seeded in the bracket based on total points from Day One and Day Two.
- Team Unified Standard Constructed.
- Teams will use the same Standard decks from Days One and Two. Different team members may play those decks than played them during Days One and Two.
Round Times
- Each Team Sealed deck building period will be 60 minutes.
- All rounds during Days One and Two will be 55 minutes per round.
- Day Three single-elimination finals have no time limit; however, players are expected to play at a reasonable pace and finish their matches within 90 minutes.

- Planeswalker Points multiplier: 12x (Lifetime only), REL Professional.
- The Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules and the Magic: The Gathering Infraction Procedure Guide are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Fact Sheet.
- Players are responsible for knowing all high-level tournament rules.

6 p.m. - 9 p.m.: Player registration at the Amsterdam Convention Factory
Friday
8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.: Team registration at event site
9:55 a.m.: Seating for player meeting posted
10 a.m.: Mandatory player meeting begins. Unified Standard decklists are collected from teams by judges.
10:15 a.m.: Day One begins with Team Sealed deck building
Saturday
9:55 a.m.: Day Two seating posted
10 a.m.: Day Two begins with Team Sealed deck building
Sunday
8:30 a.m.: Top 8 teams check in at the Top 8 area
9 a.m.: Single-elimination matches begin
