April 2011 IPG update - Toby Elliott

It's (just past) March 20th, and updates to the Tournament Documents have been posted! They're available at http://www.wizards.com/wpn/Events/Rules.aspx?category=magic:thegathering (the date on the front page is still to be updated. Clicking through will get you the document).

From an IPG standpoint, there's almost no changes, just a couple of tweaks to language to try to make things clearer. The only thing that could even be considered a change is a minor update to DEC talking about a card that can be returned to the "correct" zone rather than the "prior" zone. It was always intended to handle example D (a creature going to hand rather than graveyard), and just makes more sense now.

There's a bit more in the MTR, along with the usual updates to legal sets et al. The new electronic device policy becomes official. There are a couple of tweaks to free information (poison and the phase you're in are free). The line about backing up if players were confused about a shortcut was causing far more confusion that it was helping, so it was removed, and damage now defaults to the primary head in 2HG. A few other minor and grammatical tweaks, and we're done!

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions or raised issues, In particular, special thanks to Justin Turner, Jason Lemahieu, Smith Lo and Nick Sephton for their suggestions and to Scott Marshall for his tireless work here trying to keep on top of all the questions.

Best,
Toby Elliott
